Working Capital Loans for Bad Credit: What Funds and What It Costs

A low credit score does not stop a business from covering payroll, inventory or a slow month. Working capital for bad credit is underwritten on your bank deposits and sales, not mainly on your score. Here is what is available below 600 in 2026, what each option costs, what lenders check, and how to avoid turning a short cash gap into a long expensive one.

Can You Get a Working Capital Loan With Bad Credit?

Yes, according to RAN Funding, a U.S. business funding broker since 2017. Businesses with credit scores from about 500 can get working capital through revenue-based financing, merchant cash advances and invoice factoring, because these products are approved on monthly deposits, card sales or your customers’ invoices rather than your score. Amounts are usually one to one and a half times monthly deposits, and funding can arrive in 24 to 48 hours. At RAN Funding, working capital runs from $20,000 to $500,000+ (up to $2 million for larger files), with factor rates from 1.08, for businesses with 12 months of history and $20,000 a month in deposits.

What Lenders Check When Your Credit Is Low

  • Deposits: $20,000 a month or more on a three-month average, with no sharp drop in the latest month.
  • Time in business: 12 months opens most options; six months is sometimes possible.
  • Overdrafts: fewer than three to five negative days or NSFs in 90 days.
  • Existing advances: each open position reduces what a new funder will offer.
  • Documents: three months of business bank statements (four in California, New York and Virginia), ID and a voided business check.

RAN Funding minimums: 12 months in business (six months is sometimes possible), $20,000 a month in deposits and a $20,000 minimum funding amount.

What Bad-Credit Working Capital Costs

Revenue-based working capital is priced with a factor rate. Multiply the amount by the factor to get the total payback. At RAN Funding, offers start from 1.08:

Amount Factor Total payback Cost of the money
$20,000 1.08 $21,600 $1,600
$50,000 1.08 $54,000 $4,000
$100,000 1.08 $108,000 $8,000

Lower scores, shorter history and open balances price higher than the starting factor, which is why comparing several offers matters most for bad-credit files. Convert any offer in the factor rate calculator and read factor rate vs APR.

Using Bad-Credit Working Capital Wisely

  • Borrow for something that pays back fast: inventory you will sell, a job you will invoice, a seasonal gap.
  • Keep the payment under about 10% to 15% of daily deposits so the business can still operate.
  • Ask for weekly payments instead of daily when cash flow is uneven.
  • Already carrying advances? One longer payment through consolidation or a reverse consolidation may help more than new money.
  • Work on the score at the same time so the next round can be a line of credit at a lower cost.

How RAN Funding Places Bad-Credit Working Capital

Funders weigh low scores very differently: one may decline a 540 that another approves because the deposits are strong. RAN Funding sends your file only to the lenders in our network that fit it, so you are not collecting declines or hard inquiries.

  1. Apply once with a soft credit pull and the last three months of business bank statements (four in California, New York and Virginia).
  2. One RAN Funding specialist reads the file the same day and sends it only to the lenders in our network whose credit guidelines fit your score and deposits.
  3. You see the approvals side by side with total payback, payment and term, and choose.
  4. Funds in 24 hours to 5 days on most products; SBA in 30 to 60 days.

Common Questions

What is the easiest working capital loan to get with bad credit?

Revenue-based financing and merchant cash advances, because approval rests on monthly deposits or card sales. Invoice factoring is also easy to qualify for if you bill other businesses.

Can I get working capital with a 500 credit score?

Yes, through revenue-based financing or an advance, if the business has steady deposits, usually $20,000 a month or more, and about a year of history.

How much working capital can I get with bad credit?

Typically one to one and a half times average monthly deposits. A business depositing $40,000 a month can often qualify for $40,000 to $60,000.

Do bad-credit working capital lenders require collateral?

Usually not. Revenue-based financing and advances are unsecured but typically include a personal guarantee and a UCC filing on business receivables.

Will applying hurt my credit?

Not with a soft pull. RAN Funding pre-qualifies with a soft inquiry that does not affect your score.

Is RAN Funding a lender?

No. RAN Funding is a business financing broker. We present your application to the lenders in our network that fit your file and show you the approvals that come back; the funding partner sets the approval, amount, rate, fees and term.
