About RAN Funding
Content update policy
How often each kind of page on ranfunding.com is re-reviewed, what a review involves, and what moves the review date you see near the top of every guide.
How often is RAN Funding content updated?
Rate pages are reviewed at least monthly, product and qualification pages at least quarterly, industry pages twice a year, and policy pages annually — and any page is re-reviewed sooner when a funder, a statute or a cited source changes. A review re-checks every figure and source; the review date near the top of the page moves only when the page has been checked or materially changed.
Why dates matter on a financing site
Rates move. SBA ceilings, prime rate, funder appetite and state disclosure laws all change, and a guide that was accurate in March can be misleading by September. Every substantive page on this site carries a review date near the top. That date is a promise about when the figures were last checked, and this policy explains how it is kept.
Review schedule
| Page type | Reviewed at least | Also reviewed when |
|---|---|---|
| Rate pages (SBA rates, factor rates) | Monthly | Prime rate or SBA ceilings change |
| Product pages | Quarterly | A funder in the network changes its terms or requirements |
| Qualification and document guides | Quarterly | A state adds or amends a disclosure or statement requirement |
| Legal and regulatory guides | Quarterly | A statute, regulation or enforcement action changes the picture |
| Industry pages | Twice a year | The cited trade-association data is superseded |
| Company and policy pages | Annually | The process they describe changes |
What a review involves
- Every figure on the page is re-checked against the source or the current funder range, under the fact-checking policy.
- Every cited source is reopened. If the source has been updated, the figure and the citation date are updated together. If the source has disappeared, it is replaced or the claim is removed.
- Internal links are checked for redirects and broken targets.
- Anything the funding team has learned from live files since the last review is worked in, labelled as experience.
What changes the review date
The date moves only when the page has been checked or materially changed. Fixing a typo does not move it. Updating a rate, a requirement, a timeline, a source or the answer at the top does. A page whose date is older than its schedule above is overdue, and we would rather you told us than assumed.
Retired pages
Pages that describe expired programmes, duplicate a better page, or no longer meet our editorial standards are retired and their addresses redirected to the page that replaces them, so that a saved link or a search result still lands somewhere useful.
