Bad Credit Business Loans in 2026: Options by Credit Score, Costs and How to Get Approved

A personal credit score under 600 closes the bank door and most of the SBA door, but it does not close the business’s door. Revenue-based financing, merchant cash advances, invoice factoring, secured lines and equipment financing are all underwritten on something other than your score: deposits, invoices or collateral. This is the complete guide to bad credit business loans in October 2026: what is available at each score band, what it costs, who approves it, and how to use an expensive first loan to earn a cheap second one.

Can You Get a Business Loan With Bad Credit?

Yes. With six months in business and $10,000 or more in monthly deposits, revenue-based financing and merchant cash advances approve from about 500 personal credit; invoice factoring approves on your customers’ credit at any score; equipment financing and secured lines approve from about 550 because the collateral carries the file. What bad credit changes is the price and the term: expect factor rates of 1.20 to 1.50 or APRs of 25% to 90%+ instead of a bank’s 8% to 11%, and payback over 4 to 18 months instead of years. In NerdWallet’s 2026 study of approved loans, 80% of borrowers with scores under 660 had at least $500,000 in annual revenue, which is the real rule: strong revenue gets funded regardless of score. RAN Funding places bad-credit files with lenders that specialize in them and shows the offers side by side.

The Five Bad Credit Products, Explained

  • Revenue-based financing: an advance sized to monthly deposits (usually 1 to 1.5 times), repaid as a fixed weekly or daily remittance over 4 to 18 months. Underwritten on three months of bank statements. See revenue-based financing.
  • Merchant cash advance: same idea, repaid as a percentage of card sales or a fixed daily debit; the lowest denial rate of any product in the Fed’s 2026 survey (12%). See merchant cash advance.
  • Invoice factoring / A/R financing: a factor advances 80% to 90% of your B2B invoices and collects from your customers. Your credit barely matters; theirs does. See A/R financing.
  • Equipment financing: the equipment is the collateral, so lenders approve from about 550 and 71% of applicants were fully approved in 2026. See equipment financing with bad credit.
  • Secured business line of credit: a revolving limit against receivables, inventory or equipment at 10% to 25% APR. See secured vs unsecured lines.
  • Business-purpose HELOC: if you own a home with equity and have income, a HELOC is underwritten on you and the property, at roughly 7% to 9% with Prime at 7.00%. See Business HELOC.

Unsecured options are covered in bad credit business loans with no collateral.

What Bad Credit Business Loans Cost in October 2026

The cost of a $50,000 bad-credit loan depends far more on the product than on the score within the bad-credit range.

Product Typical pricing (sub-600 credit) Payback Cost of $50,000
Merchant cash advance Factor 1.35 – 1.50 4 – 8 months, daily $17,500 – $25,000
Revenue-based financing Factor 1.25 – 1.40 6 – 12 months, weekly $12,500 – $20,000
Online term loan (600 – 649) 30% – 50% APR 12 – 18 months $8,500 – $15,000
Secured line of credit 12% – 25% APR 12 months revolving $6,000 – $12,500
Invoice factoring 2% – 4% per 30 days 45 – 60 days per invoice $2,000 – $4,000 per cycle
Equipment financing (550+) 15% – 24% APR 24 – 60 months $4,000 – $6,500 per year

Prime at 7.00% matters less here than for bank products, because most bad-credit pricing is a fixed factor or a fixed APR. Convert any offer to an APR with the factor rate calculator and read factor rate vs APR before signing.

Who Approves Bad Credit Business Loans

Not banks and rarely credit unions. The lenders that say yes are online revenue-based funders, merchant cash advance companies, factoring companies and equipment lenders, and the Federal Reserve’s 2026 survey shows why owners go there: online lenders were chosen for speed and the chance of being funded, and 29% of all applicants used one, up from 17% in 2020. The same survey carries the warning: 60% of online-lender borrowers said the financing cost more than they expected. Bad Credit Business Funding in Florida

Florida is one of the largest bad-credit funding markets in the country, and one of the better-regulated ones for borrowers: since January 1, 2024, Florida’s Commercial Financing Disclosure Law has required providers of financing of $500,000 or less to disclose the funds provided, the dollar cost, the payment schedule and prepayment terms in writing before you sign. If you are in South Florida, see business funding in Florida and our local pages for Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.

How to Get Approved With Bad Credit, and Pay Less Next Time

  1. Lead with deposits, not credit. Three clean months of $15,000+ in business deposits is a stronger file than a 640 score with $6,000 a month.
  2. Apply for the product that matches the score band in the table above, not the one you wish you qualified for.
  3. Offer what you have: equipment, invoices, inventory or home equity each unlock a cheaper product than unsecured bad-credit money.
  4. Keep the first loan small and short. Six months of on-time payments on a $30,000 advance is what qualifies you for a $75,000 line at half the cost.
  5. Do not stack. A second daily-payment advance makes the next approval harder and more expensive; ask about a reverse consolidation instead.
  6. Fix the score in parallel: pay down card balances below 30%, dispute errors, and ask lenders that report to business bureaus to do so. See how to build business credit.

Common Questions

What is the lowest credit score for a business loan?

About 500 for revenue-based financing and merchant cash advances, provided the business has six months of history and $10,000 or more in monthly deposits. Invoice factoring has no personal credit minimum because it is underwritten on your customers.

Can I get a business loan with a 500 credit score?

Yes, from revenue-based funders and merchant cash advance companies, typically for one to one and a half times monthly deposits at factor rates of 1.30 to 1.50 over 4 to 10 months. Equipment financing and factoring are also realistic if you have the collateral or invoices.

Do bad credit business loans require collateral?

Revenue-based financing and merchant cash advances usually do not, beyond a personal guarantee and a UCC filing. Secured lines, equipment loans and factoring are collateral-based by design, and they are cheaper for that reason.

How much can I borrow with bad credit?

Unsecured bad-credit products are sized to deposits, usually $10,000 to $250,000. Secured products go higher: equipment financing to the equipment’s value and factoring to 80% to 90% of open invoices.

Will a bad credit business loan help my credit?

Some lenders report to business credit bureaus (Dun & Bradstreet, Experian Business, Equifax Business), which builds a business profile. Fewer report to personal bureaus. The bigger benefit is the track record: six to twelve months of on-time payments qualifies you for cheaper products with the same lenders.

Are bad credit business loans a scam?

The products are legitimate and widely used; 8% of all small employers applied for a merchant cash advance in 2026. The risk is cost, not legitimacy. Any provider that will not give the total payback and payment schedule in writing before you sign, or asks for an advance fee, should be avoided.

Is RAN Funding a lender?

No. RAN Funding is a business financing broker. We present your application to our lender network and show you the offers you qualify for; the funding partner sets the approval, amount, rate, fees and terms.

A note on this article. RAN Funding is a business financing broker, not a lender and not the SBA.
