Best Equipment Financing Companies of October 2026: 7 Lenders Compared

Equipment financing is the most-approved product in small business lending: 71% of applicants were approved in full in the Federal Reserve’s 2026 survey, because the equipment is the collateral. That makes the choice of company mostly about price, speed and whether they will fund the equipment you want (used, soft costs, titled vehicles). This ranking compares seven equipment financing companies for October 2026 on amounts, rates with Prime at 7.00%, terms and minimums, and explains how to use the Section 179 deduction before year end.

1. RAN Funding: Best Overall for a Range of Options

Equipment lenders specialize: one funds only titled trucks, another only medical, another only new equipment from approved vendors, another only strong credit. RAN Funding routes one application to the lenders that fund your equipment type and credit profile, including bank and captive programs when the file qualifies, and shows loan and lease offers side by side.

  • Amounts: $10,000 to $5 million per transaction; new and used equipment, private-party sales, soft costs (install, software, training) on most programs.
  • Rates: 9.9% to 24% at online and independent lenders; 6% to 12% when a bank or captive program approves.
  • Terms: two to seven years, matched to the useful life; $0 to 10% down.
  • Minimums: one year in business and 600+ credit at most lenders; 550+ with a larger down payment; six months on some programs.
  • Speed: approvals in one to two days, funding in two to seven days; vendor paid directly.
  • Watch for: equipment over seven years old, and restaurants and trucking, price higher.

Section 179 Before December 31, 2026

Equipment financed and placed in service by December 31, 2026 can be expensed under Section 179 up to $2.56 million (phasing out above $4.09 million of purchases), and 100% bonus depreciation applies to the rest for assets acquired after January 19, 2025. The deduction applies whether the equipment is paid for in cash or financed, so a $150,000 machine financed in November with $0 down can produce a 2026 deduction of $150,000 against a cash outlay of two payments. Lead times matter: order by mid-November to be safe on delivery and installation. Details and examples are in Section 179 and equipment financing.

What Happens After You Apply With RAN Funding

Your application is handled in house. One RAN Funding specialist reads your statements the same day, presents the file to the best-matched funders in our network for the best deal (not to a list of a hundred), brings the approvals back and compares total payback, payment and term with you. Your information is not resold as a lead, and you are not contacted by lenders you never chose; you hear from one person, in English or Spanish, from the first call through funding and renewal.

  • One application, one soft pull, three months of bank statements.
  • One specialist, not a call list.
  • Offers side by side with total payback before you decide.
  • Business financing only: working capital, lines of credit, term loans, equipment, receivables and SBA.

How this differs from a loan marketplace is laid out in RAN Funding vs. Lendio, Fundera and LendingTree.

Common Questions

Who is the best lender for equipment financing?

It depends on the equipment and the file: banks and captives for strong credit on new equipment (6% to 12%), specialists such as Crest Capital, Triton Capital and JR Capital for speed, specific industries or large tickets, Taycor and Credibly for weaker credit, and a broker such as RAN Funding to compare them on one application. Equipment loans were approved in full for 71% of applicants in 2026.

What credit score do you need for equipment financing?

About 600 at most lenders, 650+ for the best online pricing and 680+ for bank and captive programs. Scores of 550 to 600 can be approved with 10% to 20% down or on lower-cost, newer equipment.

Can I finance used equipment?

Yes. Most independent and online lenders finance used equipment up to about seven to ten years old, including private-party purchases, usually at one to three points above new-equipment pricing and with shorter terms. See used equipment financing.

Is it better to lease or finance equipment?

Finance (loan or $1 buyout lease) when you will keep the equipment past the term and want the Section 179 deduction; lease (fair market value) when the equipment becomes obsolete quickly or you want the lowest payment. Loans build equity; FMV leases do not.

How fast can equipment financing be approved?

Application-only approvals (no financials) up to about $150,000 to $250,000 come back in hours to a day; larger tickets with financials take two to five days. Funding follows the vendor invoice, usually within two to seven days of approval.

Is RAN Funding a lender?

No. RAN Funding is a business financing broker. We present your application to our lender network and show you the offers you qualify for; the funding partner sets the approval, amount, rate, fees and terms.

A note on this article. RAN Funding is a business financing broker, not a lender and not the SBA. This guide explains published program rules and typical lender practice, not a personalized loan offer. Your lender determines eligibility, fees, timing and final terms. Confirm every cost in a written offer before committing.
