Lines of credit
Fast business line of credit: $20K to $2M, open in 48–72 hours
A business line of credit gives you capital on standby: draw what you need, pay only on what you use and draw again as you repay. This guide covers how fast a line can open, who qualifies, how limits are set and how to get the most from one.

What is a fast business line of credit?
A fast business line of credit is a revolving credit limit for your business that is decided within hours and open within a few business days, instead of the weeks a bank line usually takes. You draw only what you need, pay only on what you draw, and the available limit refills as you repay. Through RAN Funding, established businesses can access lines from $20,000 to $2,000,000, and most lines are open and ready to draw within 48–72 hours of approval.

How a business line of credit works
A line of credit is an approved limit you can draw against whenever you need it. Three things make it different from a lump-sum loan:
- You draw only what you need. Approved for $150,000 and draw $40,000? The other $110,000 stays available.
- You pay only on what you use. Cost is based on the amount drawn, not the full limit.
- It revolves. As you repay, your available limit rebuilds, and you can draw again without a new application.
That makes a line of credit the right tool for needs that repeat or cannot be predicted: a slow-paying customer, a seasonal dip, a supplier discount that expires on Friday.
An example: how a draw works
Numbers make it concrete. Say a contractor is approved for a $200,000 line.
- Month 1. A new job needs $60,000 in materials. The contractor draws $60,000. Available limit: $140,000. Cost applies to the $60,000 drawn, not the full $200,000.
- Month 2. A second crew starts and payroll runs ahead of the next progress payment. Another $25,000 draw. Available limit: $115,000.
- Month 3. The customer pays. The contractor repays what was drawn, and the available limit rebuilds toward $200,000.
- Month 5. A supplier offers a discount for early payment. The line is there to draw again, with no new application.
This is an illustration, not an offer. Each line has its own terms for how draws are repaid.
How fast can you get a business line of credit?
The speed depends on where the line comes from. This is how the routes compare for an established business with documents ready:
| Route | Decision | Line open | What it takes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank line of credit | Weeks | Often 30–60 days | Tax returns, financial statements, often collateral |
| Fast business line of credit | Hours | 48–72 hours once approved | Short application and recent business bank statements |
There are two clocks to know. The first is opening the line, which takes 48–72 hours once approved. The second is each draw after that, which is far quicker because the line is already in place. Open the line before you need it and the money is there when a gap appears.
Line of credit vs lump-sum funding
| Business line of credit | Lump-sum funding | |
|---|---|---|
| How you receive it | Draw as needed, up to your limit | All at once |
| What you pay on | Only the amount drawn | The full amount |
| Reusable | Yes, the limit rebuilds as you repay | No, a new request each time |
| Speed | 48–72 hours to open, then quick draws | As little as 24–48 hours |
| Best for | Repeating or unpredictable needs | One defined cost or project |
Who qualifies for a fast business line of credit?
Lines of credit are built for established businesses with steady revenue. Most RAN Funding clients who open a line have:
- 1+ year in business under the current ownership.
- $250,000+ in annual revenue, which is about $20,000+ a month deposited into a business bank account.
- Consistent deposits and a healthy average balance, without frequent overdrafts.
- A limit request in line with revenue. Larger limits call for stronger revenue and a longer track record.
See the full requirements.
How much can your credit line be?
Limits run from $20,000 to $2,000,000. Your limit is sized mainly on monthly deposits, time in business and how your account has been managed. Many businesses start with a limit that fits today’s revenue and grow it as the business does. What a fast line of credit is best for
- Uneven cash flow. Covering payroll and bills while you wait on receivables.
- Seasonal businesses. Draw in the slow months, pay down in the busy ones.
- Inventory and materials. Buying when the price is right, not only when cash is high.
- Unexpected costs. Repairs, a surprise tax bill or a sudden opportunity. See emergency business loans.
- A safety net. A line you have not drawn is capital on standby.
How different businesses use a line
- Contractors. Materials and payroll between progress payments. See construction.
- Wholesalers and distributors. Buying inventory while waiting 30 to 60 days on receivables. See wholesale and distribution.
- Medical and dental practices. Smoothing out insurance reimbursement timing. See medical practices.
- Restaurants and retailers. Stocking up before a busy season and paying down after it.
- Manufacturers. Raw materials for large orders. See manufacturing.
How to use a line of credit well
- Open it before you need it. Lines are easier to open when cash flow is healthy than in the middle of a crunch.
- Use it for short gaps. Draw for needs that will be repaid by incoming revenue within months.
- Pay it down. The sooner a draw is repaid, the less it costs and the more limit you have available.
- Know the terms of each draw. Ask how draws are repaid and what applies when the line is not in use. Your specialist explains every term before you sign.
What makes a line open faster
- Complete bank statements. Full PDFs from your bank, every page, not screenshots.
- Existing balances disclosed upfront. They show on your statements anyway, and surprises restart the review.
- Details that match. Use the exact legal business name and address on your bank account.
- Quick replies. Answering a verification call or email the same hour keeps the 48–72 hour timeline on track.
Questions to ask before you open a line
- How is each draw repaid, and over how long?
- What does a draw cost in total?
- Is there any cost when the line is not in use?
- How quickly do draws arrive once the line is open?
- Can the limit grow as my revenue grows?
Your specialist explains every term before you sign.
When a line of credit is the wrong tool
- You need money in your account tomorrow. A line takes 48–72 hours to open. For tighter deadlines, see fast business funding, business loans in 24 hours or same day business loans.
- One large, long-term purchase. A single big project is usually better matched to a lump sum repaid over a longer term.
- Covering ongoing losses. A revolving line works when revenue is coming to repay it.
