Best Low-Interest Business Loans of October 2026: Where the Cheapest Money Is
With the prime rate at 7.00%, the cheapest business loans in October 2026 are bank and credit union loans at 7% to 10%, SBA 504 debentures near 6.3% to 7.0%, equipment loans from about 6% and SBA 7(a) loans at 10.00% to 13.50%. Every one of them has a price in time and paperwork. This ranking lists where low-interest business loans actually come from, what each requires, and the honest answer to who qualifies, using the Kansas City Fed’s September 2026 bank survey and the Federal Reserve’s 2026 approval data.

What Are the Best Low-Interest Business Loans?
The lowest-interest business loans in October 2026, in order, are SBA 504 loans (about 6.3% to 7.0% fixed, for real estate and heavy equipment), equipment financing from banks and captives (6% to 12%), bank and credit union term loans and lines (7% to 11%; the Kansas City Fed’s Q2 2026 survey put median new bank term loan rates at 6.7% to 7.0% before the September hike), and SBA 7(a) loans (10.00% to 13.50%). All of them require two or more years in business, 680+ personal credit, tax returns and, usually, collateral, and all take two to eight weeks. For businesses that do not fit, the lowest-cost options are an online line of credit at a 1.5% draw fee (about 12% APR equivalent) and an online term loan at 10% to 18% for strong files. Our best overall for a range of options is RAN Funding, because the only way to know which low-interest product your file qualifies for is to have bank, SBA, equipment and online lenders look at it at the same time, which one soft-pull application does.

Rate on $100,000, by product (lower end, October 2026)
Low rates come with two years of history, 680+ credit, documentation and time; the premium online lenders charge pays for skipping those.
Who Actually Qualifies for Low-Interest Loans
NerdWallet’s 2026 study of approved marketplace loans found 55% of borrowers had personal credit of 700 or higher and the median business was seven years old. The Federal Reserve’s 2026 survey found small banks fully approved 57% of applicants, large banks fewer, and 60% of online-lender borrowers paid more than expected. The pattern: the lowest rates go to files that look like this.
- Two or more years of filed tax returns showing profit, or at least cash flow that covers the proposed payment 1.25 times over.
- Personal credit of 680+, 720+ for the best pricing, with no recent late payments.
- Collateral: equipment, receivables, real estate or a blanket lien; unsecured bank loans are rare under $250,000 in revenue.
- No stacked advances. Open daily-payment positions disqualify bank and SBA pricing until cleared.
- A relationship: banks price lines lowest for deposit customers. The Kansas City Fed found 8% of banks on net still tightening in Q2 2026, so a known customer matters.

What the Rate Difference Is Worth
| $200,000 loan, 5 years | Rate | Monthly payment | Total interest |
|---|---|---|---|
| SBA 504 (blended) | 7.0% | $3,960 | $37,600 |
| Bank term loan | 9.0% | $4,152 | $49,100 |
| SBA 7(a) | 11.5% | $4,398 | $63,900 |
| Online term loan, strong file | 16% | $4,864 | $91,800 |
| Online term loan, standard | 28% | $6,228 | $173,700 |
Over five years, bank pricing instead of standard online pricing on $200,000 saves about $125,000. That is the argument for spending four weeks on a bank or SBA application when the need is not urgent. Model your own figures in the business loan payment calculator.
If You Do Not Qualify Yet: Lowest-Cost Alternatives
- Equipment financing at 9.9% to 16% from independent lenders, available from one year and 600+ credit, because the equipment is the collateral.
- An online line of credit at a 1.5% to 2% draw fee, drawn for 60 to 90 days at a time, which costs far less than its APR equivalent suggests.
- Invoice factoring at 1% to 2% per 30 days for B2B businesses with creditworthy customers; priced on their credit, not yours.
- A HELOC used for business at Prime plus 0 to 2 (7% to 9%) if you have home equity and are comfortable with the exposure; see HELOC for business.
- A 12-month plan: clean deposits, clear advances, build business credit and apply for bank pricing at the two-year mark. The gap between 28% and 9% is the reward.
How to Get the Lowest Rate Available to You
- Apply where your deposits are first; relationship pricing is real at banks and credit unions.
- Offer collateral and a specific use; lenders price a $150,000 equipment loan below a $150,000 unsecured loan every time.
- Ask for the SBA option; many banks will quote 7(a) alongside conventional, and the SBA guarantee lowers their risk.
- Compare on one application through RAN Funding so bank, SBA, equipment and online lenders quote the same file the same week.
- Negotiate fees, not just rate: origination, packaging and prepayment terms move the true cost by one to three points.
What Happens After You Apply With RAN Funding
Your application is handled in house. One RAN Funding specialist reads your statements the same day, presents the file to the two to four funders in our network that fit it (not to a list of a hundred), brings the offers back and compares total payback, payment and term with you. Your information is not resold as a lead, and you are not contacted by lenders you never chose; you hear from one person, in English or Spanish, from the first call through funding and renewal.
- One application, one soft pull, three months of bank statements.
- One specialist, not a call list.
- Funders we select for your profile, and you see which.
- Offers side by side with total payback before you decide.
- Business financing only: working capital, lines of credit, term loans, equipment, receivables and SBA.
How this differs from a loan marketplace is laid out in RAN Funding vs. Lendio, Fundera and LendingTree.
Common Questions
What is the lowest interest rate for a business loan right now?
In October 2026, SBA 504 debentures around 6.3% to 7.0% fixed and bank or captive equipment loans from about 6% are the lowest, followed by bank and credit union loans at 7% to 10% and SBA 7(a) loans at 10.00% to 13.50%. All require two years in business, 680+ credit and documentation.
Which lenders have the lowest business loan rates?
Credit unions and community banks for term loans and lines (7% to 10%), SBA lenders such as Newtek and Live Oak for 7(a) and 504 loans, and bank or captive equipment programs. Among online lenders, Idea Financial’s 1.5% to 2.5% draw-fee lines and strong-file term loans at 10% to 18% are the lowest.
Can I get a low-interest business loan with bad credit?
Rarely. Below 650, the lowest-cost options are equipment financing (secured by the equipment), invoice factoring (priced on your customers’ credit) and cash-secured loans. Unsecured low-interest loans require 680+ credit at nearly every lender.
Are SBA loans low interest?
SBA 504 loans are among the lowest-cost business loans available (about 6.3% to 7.0% fixed on the debenture portion). SBA 7(a) loans are capped at Prime plus 3.0 to 6.5 (10.00% to 13.50% today), which is below online pricing but above bank conventional pricing for strong files.
Will business loan rates go down in 2027?
Nobody knows. The Fed raised rates in September 2026 and markets expect another quarter point by December; a cut in 2027 would depend on inflation. Variable-rate loans (bank lines, SBA 7(a)) move with Prime; fixed-rate loans lock today’s rate. If you expect cuts, a variable line costs less to exit than a fixed term loan.
Is RAN Funding a lender?
No. RAN Funding is a business financing broker. We present your application to our lender network and show you the offers you qualify for; the funding partner sets the approval, amount, rate, fees and terms.
