Best Business Term Loans of October 2026: 6 Options Compared on Rate, Term and Approval
A business term loan is the product most owners picture when they think of a loan: a lump sum, a fixed payment, a set term. In 2026 it is also the product approved in full least often (35% of applicants in the Federal Reserve’s survey), because lenders size term debt to cash flow and many files ask for more term than the cash flow supports. This ranking compares six term loan options for October 2026 on rate with Prime at 7.00%, term, amounts and minimums, and shows what the same $150,000 costs across them.

What Is the Best Business Term Loan?
For an established business with two years of returns and 680+ credit, the best business term loan in October 2026 is a bank term loan at 7% to 11% over three to seven years or an SBA 7(a) loan at 10.00% to 13.50% over up to ten years; the Kansas City Fed’s Q2 2026 survey put median new bank term loan rates at about 6.7% to 7.0% before the September hike. For a business under two years old or with credit of 600 to 680, the best term loan is an online term loan: iBusiness Funding for $25,000 to $500,000 over six months to five years with fixed monthly payments in two to four days (660+, two years), or RAN Funding’s network for 12- to 36-month term loans from 600 credit and one year in business. Our best overall for a range of options is RAN Funding, because one soft-pull application returns bank, SBA and online term loan offers on the same file; through RAN Funding, term loans run up to three years, and bank and SBA loans longer. Fora Financial and Credibly offer the fastest term-style funding for weaker credit, priced as factor rates.

1. RAN Funding: Best Overall for a Range of Options
Term loan pricing spans 7% to 50% APR for the same amount depending on lender and file, and the only way to know where yours lands is to have several lenders look at it. RAN Funding takes one soft-pull application and returns term loan offers from banks, SBA lenders and online lenders, with the payment, term and total cost on each, next to lines of credit and equipment financing in case the need fits those better.
- Amounts: $10,000 to $5 million; most term loan files are $50,000 to $500,000.
- Terms: up to three years on RAN Funding term loans; bank and SBA loans through the network run longer.
- Rates: whatever the cheapest approving lender offers; 10% to 36% APR is typical online, 7% to 13.5% at banks and SBA lenders.
- Minimums: one year in business, 600+ credit and $20,000 a month in deposits for online term loans; two years and 680+ for bank and SBA.
- Speed: two to five days online; 30 to 60 days SBA.

Why Term Loans Are Approved in Full Least Often, and How to Fix It
Only 35% of term loan applicants were approved for the full amount in the Federal Reserve’s 2026 survey, against 71% for equipment loans. The reason is sizing: lenders approve the term debt the cash flow covers at 1.25x, and many requests exceed it. The fixes:
- Size the request to the payment. $150,000 over three years at 16% needs about $6,600 a month of free cash flow; show it or ask for less.
- Name the use. Term loans for a specific purchase or expansion are approved more often than “working capital.”
- Offer collateral. Equipment or receivables turn a 35% product into a 71% product.
- Clear open advances before applying; daily payments consume the coverage lenders are looking for.
- Ask for the right term: the shortest the cash flow carries comfortably, matched to the asset. See business loan terms.

What Happens After You Apply With RAN Funding
Your application is handled in house. One RAN Funding specialist reads your statements the same day, presents the file to the best-matched funders in our network for the best deal (not to a list of a hundred), brings the approvals back and compares total payback, payment and term with you. Your information is not resold as a lead, and you are not contacted by lenders you never chose; you hear from one person, in English or Spanish, from the first call through funding and renewal.
- One application, one soft pull, three months of bank statements.
- One specialist, not a call list.
- Offers side by side with total payback before you decide.
- Business financing only: working capital, lines of credit, term loans, equipment, receivables and SBA.
How this differs from a loan marketplace is laid out in RAN Funding vs. Lendio, Fundera and LendingTree.
Common Questions
What is a good interest rate on a business term loan?

Factor-rate products (1.11 to 1.45) are priced for speed and credit flexibility.
How long can a business term loan be?
One to seven years at banks, up to ten years on SBA 7(a) loans for working capital and equipment (25 years for real estate), six months to five years at online lenders, and three to 24 months on factor-rate products. Through RAN Funding, term loans run up to three years; bank and SBA loans longer.
What credit score do I need for a business term loan?
About 600 for online term loans (660+ for the best online pricing), 680+ for bank and SBA term loans, and 500 to 570 for factor-rate term-style products from Credibly and Fora Financial.
How fast can I get a business term loan?
Two to five business days online (iBusiness Funding funds in two to four), same day to 72 hours on factor-rate products, two to six weeks at a bank and 30 to 60 days for an SBA 7(a) loan.
Is a term loan or a line of credit better?
A term loan for a one-time purchase or project with a fixed cost (equipment, build-out, acquisition); a line of credit for recurring or unpredictable needs (payroll timing, inventory, receivables). Term loans carry lower rates for the same file; lines cost less in total when drawn briefly. See term loan vs line of credit.
Is RAN Funding a lender?
No. RAN Funding is a business financing broker. We present your application to our lender network and show you the offers you qualify for; the funding partner sets the approval, amount, rate, fees and terms.
