Business Lines of Credit in Florida

A business line of credit lets you borrow, repay, and borrow again without reapplying. You only pay for the money you actually draw. That makes it the best tool for gaps you cannot predict, like a slow receivable or a surprise repair.

RAN Funding is a Florida-based funding broker, not a direct lender. We do not fund credit lines with our own capital or set the rates.

Most Florida owners end up choosing between a line of credit and a lump-sum loan. Below is the real difference, and how to price one honestly.

What is a business line of credit, and how does it work in Florida?

A line of credit is an approved limit you draw against. Approved for $75,000 and draw $20,000, you pay on the $20,000 only. The rest sits available at no cost, unless the lender charges a maintenance fee.

As you repay, your available limit rebuilds. That is what revolving means.

Draws usually arrive by ACH within one to two business days. Many non-bank lines set a fixed repayment window per draw, often 6 to 12 months.

For Florida businesses the appeal is seasonality. A landscaping company in Naples or a marine shop in Fort Lauderdale can draw in the slow months and pay down in the busy ones.

Watch two fee types. A draw fee is charged each time you pull money. A maintenance or non-use fee is charged whether you draw or not. Ask about both before you sign — they are the two costs most often left out of a verbal quote.

Who lends business lines of credit to Florida businesses?

Banks and credit unions. Cheapest available, slowest to set up, hardest to qualify for. Expect two or more years in business, strong personal credit, tax returns, financial statements, sometimes a personal guarantee plus collateral.

Non-bank and online lenders. Revolving lines from their own capital with lighter documentation. Approval often in days. Higher cost, smaller limits.

Broker-placed lines. RAN Funding prepares your file, submits it to our lender network, and brings back the offers. We do not issue the line.

The honest summary: if a bank will approve your line, take it. Brokers and non-bank lenders matter most when the bank says no, or when you cannot wait a month.

Rates and terms: what actually decides yours

We do not publish rate tables, because a broker does not set the price. The lender does, and your number comes out of your own file: time in business, how consistent your deposits are, your credit profile, your industry, and what you already owe.

Lines of credit are also quoted in more than one way — some as an annual rate, some as a monthly percentage on the drawn balance. Those are not directly comparable, which is exactly why a rate alone tells you very little.

Ask for these five on any line you are offered:

  • The limit — and whether it rebuilds as you repay.
  • Total dollar cost of a sample draw — pick a realistic amount and ask what it costs end to end.
  • Draw fee — charged each time you pull funds.
  • Maintenance or non-use fee — charged whether you draw or not.
  • Repayment window per draw — how long you have to pay each one back.

Always ask for the total dollar cost of a sample draw. A monthly percentage can sound small and add up fast, and it is the single easiest number to misread on a line of credit.

A line of credit usually costs more than a term loan per dollar borrowed, but you borrow fewer dollars for less time. For a short gap it is almost always cheaper than a merchant cash advance.

How to qualify in Florida

Requirement Fast-approval lines Bank-style or larger lines
Revenue $20,000+/mo in deposits Same floor, consistent month to month
Time in business 1 year or more Often 2 years or more
Documents 3–6 months bank statements, ID, voided check Plus tax returns, P&L, balance sheet, debt schedule
Registration Active FL registration, business bank account Plus EIN and matching records

Underwriters react most to your bank statements. Frequent overdrafts, negative days, and a stack of existing advances will shrink your limit or cost the approval outright. Three steady months usually beat one spike.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the best business line of credit lenders in Florida?

Depends on your file. Banks offer the lowest cost when you qualify. Non-bank lenders approve faster at a higher price. We shop your file and let you compare real offers.

Is RAN Funding a lender?

No. Broker and ISO. Lenders in our network underwrite, price, and fund.

How fast can I get a business line of credit in FL?

Non-bank lines often move from application to approval in one to three business days. Bank lines commonly take weeks. Individual draws usually fund in one to two business days.

Does applying affect my personal credit score?

Initial review is a soft pull. Any hard pull happens only with your permission.

Can I have a line of credit and a term loan at the same time?

Often yes, but existing debt reduces what you qualify for. Stacking too many products is a common decline reason.
